3/12/2018 It is still cold and the temperature is below freezing in the morning though I feel like spring is just around the corner. We purchased various kinds of seed for our garden and planted them today. We also ordered some Japanese vegetable seed online and waiting for them to be delivered. We keep them inside and let them grow for a while and will move them outside after the frost season is over.
2018年3月12日 まだまだ朝は氷点下だけれど、日中は暖かい日も増えて徐々に春が近づいてきている感じがします。ということで、家庭菜園の準備にとりかかることにしました。さっそく食べたい野菜の種を買ってきて種を植えてみました。この他に、オンラインで日本の野菜の種を扱っているお店を見つけたので、日本のナスやキュウリの種を注文しています。アメリカのナスは巨大な米ナス、なかがスカスカで美味しくない。あと、キュウリも太くて中がジュクジュクなので、日本のパリっとした歯ごたえのあのキュウリが作ってみたいです。種植えのDay 1。

We also purchased a bird feeder that I always wanted to have. There are many kinds of beautiful birds around and we want to see them closer. The day after setting it up, the birds started to show up and eating sunflower seed from the feeder! How cute:)
あと、種を買いに行ったついでに、バードフィーダーを買ってきました。うちの周りは可愛い鳥が飛んでいて、是非とも近くで見てみたく。設置したら次の日にさっそく鳥さんたちがエサを食べにきました。ホームセンターで一番お買い得だったヒマワリの種だけど、結構好評で一日を通して色んな鳥がやってきます。面倒な洗い物をしているときに可愛い鳥が観察できて気が紛れるというのがポイント。洗い物もサクサク終わる！鳥の名前が全く分からないから鳥図鑑的なものがほしいな。
