Triangle fig garden

7/6/2022 We have some plants that we wanted to keep on the deck but… we had a hard time fighting against critters. Every morning I found pots dug out so I tried to put some net and rocks over the them but it didn’t work. We had a trip to Japan coming up and needed to protect our precious plants including fig trees while we are away. So we just made a quick triangle garden on the side of the house and put the fence around it. I didn’t have time to make it look nicer so just placed cardboard to keep the weed down and placed the pots. Fortunately they all survived except for one fig tree(sad…) and finally I had a time to make it nicer today. Still need some work but much better than it used to be.

2022年7月6日　冬の間は家の中で過ごしていた、無花果、レモン、ライム、ハーブなどのプランターで育てている植物は、春が来て暖かくなってからは我が家のダイニングルームのドアから通じているデッキの上に出していました。ところが、気温が上がるに連れて冬眠から冷めた小動物たちに毎晩荒らされてしまい、網や石などで対策をしても効果はなく、途方にくれていました。さらに日本行きの日付も迫っていたので、家をあけている間に植物達を安全な場所に避難させることにしました。出発ギリギリに家の脇に作った三角形のお庭コーナー。時間がなくて、とりあえずフェンスを設置して、段ボールで芝生が伸びないようにして、植物を置いて自動水やり機を設定して出発。残念ながら無花果が1本枯れてしまったけれど、他は元気に育ってくれていました。今日ようやく時間ができたので、お手入れをしてみました。少しは見栄えが良くなったかな？
