3/14/2018 We are making some plans for our garden, what to put where and so on. There are two raise bed planters in our garden but these need to be protected with net or fence from deer and rabbits(This is another project that we need to work on). We also have a secured wood deck connected to the dining room so we decided to use this space for some herbs and small vegetables. Rich decided to make planters and he wants to use ceder this time. Neither Home Depot nor Lowe’s carry the lumber he was looking for… That means we go somewhere “deep” where the only serious guys go. Okay, let’s go shopping!!
2018年3月14日 先日、家庭菜園について何処で何を育てるかなどの計画を練っていたとき、ハーブポットもやろうかという話になり、それなら庭に植えるよりもウッドデッキにプランターを置いて育てた方がお世話がしやすいという結論に至りました。今後のプロジェクトですが、庭で野菜を育てる段階になったら、箱庭の周りに鹿よけのネットを張らなければなりません。ウッドデッキは家の2階部分でゲートもついているので鹿が入って来られないのがポイント。せっかく作った野菜を鹿に食べられる心配がないので、このスペースを有効活用しない手はありません。と、前置きが長くなってしまいましたが、ハーブポット用のプランターをリッチ君が手作りすることになりました。選んだ木は杉。近くのホームセンター（量販店）では杉は取り扱っていないので、いわゆる木のマニアが足を運ぶディープな木材店に行ってお目当ての杉を手に入れてきました。

私には良さが良く分からないけれど、マニアにはたまらない木材店。木のいい香りがするけれど、とにかく寒い。

Oops… This was a mistake that we didn’t come here with the truck. so Rich asked a lumber guy to cut the wood to fit in our car.
木を買いに行ったのに車で来てしまったので、適当な長さに切ってもらって無理やり詰め込みます。

早速プロジェクト開始！継ぎ目はリッチ君が得意の蟻継ぎです。ベンチの上に置いてあるグラスの中味は焼酎（笑）ラジオを聴きながら一杯やりながら～のパターン。完全にオヤジ！で、今ここ。
