1/24/2021 Happy 2021! Hope this year will be brighter and healthier for everyone. Well, our first woodworking project of this year was canoe paddles. We took a 2-day class at the Wooden Boat School in Kingston, New York and made our new paddles. We took the same class back in 2017 but my paddle was too heavy to use. This time I committed myself to make a better usable one! So I measured, weighed carefully in the process and I was able to make the one I wanted. 2021年1月24日 新年明けましておめでとうございます。2021年は皆さまにとって健康で明るい年になりますように。そしてコロナが収束して、一日も早く安全に日本に帰省できることを祈っています。もう丸2年も帰れていないので、日本が恋しいです…..(泣) さて、先日私たちは、今年初の木工細工プロジェクトとして、カヌーパドル作りに挑戦しました。家から３０分ほどのところにある、木工ボートの学校で２日間のワークショップに参加。実は同じコースを4年前にとったのですが、完成したパドルが重すぎて使うことができなかったので、今回は事前に重さ、長さなどを測って実際に使えるものを作りました。作業工程は約３分半の動画を見てもらえたら嬉しいです。
